Clinical hypnotherapy is not a registered profession under Australia's national registration scheme (AHPRA). As a result, Mairelys Kennaway practises as a non-registered health practitioner and is bound by the Code of Conduct for non-registered health practitioners, set out in Schedule 3 of the Public Health Regulation 2022 (NSW).
The Code sets clear standards for safe and ethical practice — including practising honestly and safely, respecting your privacy and confidentiality, obtaining informed consent, and not making misleading claims about treatment. You can read more about the Code, and the standards every non-registered health practitioner in NSW must meet, on the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) website.
If you ever have a concern about your care, we encourage you to speak with us first — we take feedback seriously and will always do our best to put things right.
You also have the right to make a complaint to the Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC), an independent body that deals with complaints about health service providers in New South Wales.
